Welcome to the Green Energy Management Summer School at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, 9-16 July 2019!

The Green Energy Management Summer School (GEM Europe) is hosted by the University of Aveiro and provides international students with a context-sensitive first-class training in the field of Green Energy Management and renewable resources. This summer school is a joint project of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) and hosting Institution University of Aveiro (Portugal).

GEM Europe provides the opportunity to have an exciting experience surrounded by modern architecture at Campus Santiago. Yet participants will be able not only to listen to top experts and learn about the latest trends in the field of green energy management with a particular focus on climate change mitigation and environmental issues in the context of the circular economy, but also to add new connections to their network. Students can obtain official credits (3 ECTS).

The teaching staff comprises academic staff and testifying experts from energy companies sharing their knowledge and experience. A special corner will be allocated to research networking for Ph.D. students and researchers including poster presentations. There will also be a round table discussion on the topic Hydroelectricity in supporting the use of intermittent sources of renewable energy.

The programme is for 8 days and covers the following topics:
  • Environmental planning and climate change mitigation
  • Energy finance and the economics of electricity
  • The circular economy and eco-innovation
  • Energy efficiency and renewable energy
  • Experience from energy companies
  • Research networking

And will include a visit to the marine water of the University of Aveiro.
